Vicious Dogs Tore Chunks of Flesh from My Ponies ; Woman Blasts Pitbull-Type Animals' Owner after Attack

A WOMAN has spoken of the horrifying moment her ponies were viciously attacked by two dogs.

Miniature Shetland ponies Treacle and Minty were grazing in their paddock in Sale when they were mauled. The dogs tore chunks of flesh from the horses.

A lone dog walker was spotted near Little Ees Lane, in Ashton-on- Mersey, near the paddock and eventually called the dogs away from the ponies before walking off.

The ponies' owner, Julie Sykes, said: "They were covered in blood and very traumatised. They were just standing in the corner shaking and nuzzling each other. They are both seriously injured and they're not out of the woods yet.

"I don't feel anything towards the dogs - I blame the owner.

"He didn't even stop to see how they were. He just walked away."
