How Could Someone Drive over a Grave? ; FAMILY'S ANGUISH AS HEADSTONE IS KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR

A WOMAN has spoken of her horror after finding her relatives' headstone knocked down and driven over.

Lorna Sharples was devastated to find the monument to her great auntie and uncle at Blackley Cemetery and Crematorium had been desecrated.

Pictures show the grave, of husband and wife Elizabeth and Samuel Drayer, with footprints and tyre marks.

It appears as though a car knocked over the headstone, but the person responsible did not report it to staff - or even attempt to pick it up.

Lorna, 41, who lives in Blackley, said: "I found the grave had been driven over and couldn't believe it.

"Some people just have no respect. I can't believe someone would drive over a grave and not even tell anyone.

"I'm just so upset about it. My family really look after the grave. To see it like that is horrible.

"It's not the first time it's happened either. …
