HUNDREDS of hungry people endured the midday heat in long queues - all in the name of a free burrito.

Men, women and children made their way to Oxford Street in the city centre for the opening of the new Mexican restaurant Chilango.

If people weren't sure of its location they needn't have looked for long as hundreds stood in a line which snaked all the way down the busy street.

And if that wasn't enough to grab your attention, the brass band covered in face paint would have caught your eyes...and ears.

Kane Firek, 27, from Eccles, said: "Fridays are all about the burrito so I'm happy to wait in line for one, especially when it's free."

As well as the regular burrito, the restaurant also offers vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. …
