I'm as angry as the next guy when it comes to America's economic outlook. For years, we've been fed phony job reports and inaccurate unemployment statistics. We've witnessed an automotive industry bailout only to see shuttered factories.

In 2009, Washington provided us with a "stimulus" program to instantly create jobs. So where did they go? Now in 2016, presidential candidates in both parties are campaigning on jobs, jobs, jobs. Surely we weren't sold a bill of goods the past seven years . were we?

One Republican candidate is calling for our country to be run like a business. While this makes for a good media sound bite, it's totally unrealistic. Our federal government is not a business. We have three independent branches of government, not three levels of divisional managers. …
