FLIXTON hit a huge 293 as they beat Bury by 83 runs in their first game in the Greater Manchester Cricket League.

A remarkable 94 runs from Marlon Welcome-Goodman from just 49 balls, including ten fours and seven sixes, set Flixton on their way to victory, before successfully bowling Bury out for 210.

Meanwhile, Clifton made it two wins from two beating Egerton away by four wickets.

Liam Hurt took five wickets in the first innings to clip the Bolton League champions back to 172 all out, before Clifton got to work with the bat, finishing on 176-6. Sam Dorsey topped the runs with 53.

Prestwich underlined their Premier League credentials with a 69- run victory over Glossop, with opening batsman James Wharmby hitting a century before being caught with just ten balls left of the innings. Martin Walters then hit 64 to help Prestwich to 238-5 from 50 overs.

Elsewhere, Heywood beat Denton West by a wicket, Denton St Lawrence overcame Edgworth by 123 runs and Greenmount beat Unsworth by eight wickets. …
