Gunmen Blast Social Work Offices in Chilling Attack ; Graffiti Also Scrawled in What Is Believed to Be 'Targeted' Shooting

SHOTS were fired into the door of a children's services building in a 'targeted' attack.

The Manchester Social Services office was damaged in the blast and bullet shell casings were discovered close to the scene on Moston Lane, Harpurhey.

Graffiti was also scrawled across a glass door of the building.

The M.E.N. understands the shooting is a targeted attack on a social worker at the centre.

Officers said nobody was injured during the incident, which happened some time between 4.30am on Sunday and 7am yesterday. Forensics officers were seen combing the scene for evidence. Harpurhey councillor Pat Karney said: "I am very disturbed about this targeted incident on this office. I will be meeting with the police to find out what has happened. …
