Buffalo Farm to Host 'Go Red' Fundraiser in May ; Volunteers Working to Raise Awareness for Women's Health

In mid-May, many are expected to kick up their boot heels and "party with a purpose at Gritt's Farm. The working farm in Buffalo will host the Go Red Girlfriends-Teays Valley's "Boots, Burlap and Heartbeats fundraiser from 6 until 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 18.

Proceeds from the country-themed evening will go to Go Red for Women and the American Heart Association, expressly to be used for funding research into treating and curing heart disease in women.

"The Go Red Girlfriends is a group of volunteers from Teays Valley who are really passionate about heart disease and Go Red for Women and the American Heart Association. They came together to create an event that would raise awareness, but in a really fun environment. It's a way for women to have a night away and give back to the American Heart Association, said American Heart Association Metro Executive Director Sarah Bolyard.

Bolyard added that this will be the second annual Go Red Girlfriends-Teays Valley fundraiser. …
