W.Va. Music Hall of Fame Traveling Museum Rolls onto Local Campuses

The West Virginia Music Hall of Fame's Traveling Museum paid calls to four Putnam County elementary schools this month. A collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Education, the West Virginia Music Hall of Fame's Traveling Museum visited Buffalo and George Washington Elementary schools on April 18 and returned on April 25 for stops at Hometown and Confidence Elementary schools.

The Traveling Museum is housed in a 28-foot, handicapped- accessible trailer. Inside, students experience the rich variety of West Virginia music through instruments, memorabilia, historical photographs and documents.

The exhibits showcase the variety of music that has come from the Mountain State, from opera, jazz and gospel to traditional, country, bluegrass, blues and rock n' roll. …
