A STREET in a leafy suburb has been named the worst in Manchester for dog mess.

Dudley Road in Whalley Range topped the list for council complaints about people not cleaning up after their pets.

Figures obtained from a Freedom of Information (FOI) request also revealed that six of the top 10 trouble spots are in south Manchester - with Wythenshawe appearing three times.

Drake Avenue, Greatfield Road and Southwick Road were all named as problem areas.

Withington's St Paul's Road came second out of 10 for complaints.

The FOI request showed that over the course of the last 12 months, Manchester council received 1,056 reports of dog fouling.

The top 10 worst streets for complaints were revealed as: The FOI request was made by dog food company CANIDAE, whose brand manager David Tinker said: "We hope the findings act as a reminder to irresponsible dog owners to do the right thing and help keep the streets clean. …
