Cattle Seminar to Focus on Production Technology

MARIETTA (JR) - The American Farmers & Ranchers LEAD program is sponsoring a cattle seminar focusing on production technology at the Noble Foundation's Oswalt Ranch near Marietta on May 27.

"This is a great opportunity for livestock producers to learn the latest production technology," said Megan Albright, AFR adult education coordinator.

The seminar starts at 10 a.m. at the ranch.

There will be a tour of the ranch's cattle handling facility, and sessions on GrowSafe, Integrity Beef, Beef Quality Assessment, cattle GPS collar, regional grazing practices and forage measurement technology.

The GrowSafe session features a demonstration on computerized equipment that measures animal feeding and watering behavior. The BQA focuses on cattle management techniques and principals that ensure production of wholesome, safe beef for consumers. …
