Pine Lawn Patrolman Slapped Gas Station Clerk on Buttocks, Police Say

A Pine Lawn police officer was charged with assaulting a clerk at a Phillips 66 gas station after a Missouri Highway Patrol investigation.

Nicholas E. Stone, 36, of the 2400 block of Guardian Court in Arnold, was charged Monday with third-degree assault involving an incident on Nov. 17, at the gas station at 6150 Natural Bridge Road.

Stone, while on duty, went behind the clerk's counter and slapped a woman working there on her buttocks, according to court documents. The incident was captured on surveillance camera.

The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated the incident. Stone was issued a summons for the misdemeanor offense, according to Edward McGee, a spokesman with the St. Louis County circuit attorney's office. Stone resigned from the Pine Lawn Police Department a day or two after the incident, he said. …
