Peters council has hired a bond counsel for the possible joint purchase of the Rolling Hills Country Club with the Peters Township School District.

Council voted Monday to hire Reed Smith as bond counsel at a cost of $10,500 plus expenses.The estimated purchase price of the 190-acre property on East McMurray Road is $9 million to $10 million.

Township officials said earlier the property may be used for recreation or some township operations in the McMurray Town Center may be moved there.

Manager Michael Silvestri could not say when a purchase would be completed.

Also on Monday, council agreed to have a traffic engineer look at the intersection of Braeburn Drive and East McMurray Road after Susan Deegan of Braeburn Drive in the Anthony Farms housing plan expressed safety concerns to council. …
