Person of Interest Sought ; Police Investigating Friday Shooting near Gas Station on S.W. Gage

Topeka Police Department officials are looking for a person of interest related to a shooting reported this past Friday at a southwest Topeka gas station.

The shooting -- which was reported at 5:12 p.m. Friday at the Phillips 66 gas station, 3300 S.W. Gage Blvd. -- left a man with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

During the course of the investigation, Colwin Lynn Henderson III, a black 18-year-old from Topeka, was identified as a person of interest.

Henderson left the scene of the shooting in a gold Chrysler Sebring convertible with extensive front-end damage and is believed to be armed with a handgun, police said.

The man who was injured was transported to a local hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening and has yet to be identified. …
