Police Swoop after House Attacked with 'Industrial Firework'

POLICE investigating an explosion at a house in Blackley are conducting a painstaking search of a nearby property.

No one was hurt after an 'industrial firework' was set off at the front door of a semi-detached home in Victoria Avenue East on Saturday.

On Sunday, police swooped at another address on Ashton Road East in nearby Failsworth.

A man was arrested and later charged.

Meanwhile, a detailed three-day search of the large detached property on Ashton Road East, near the junction with Cutler Hill Road, is ongoing.

Police sniffer dogs and scene of crime experts could be seen in and around the property.

Officers bagged and removed a number of items from the house for further analysis.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said the continuing search was 'in connection with an ongoing investigation into an explosion on Victoria Avenue East. …
