ECU to Honor Alumni

ADA - East Central University's annual Evening of Honors and Recognition is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. May 6 in the ECU Foundation Hall of the Chickasaw Business and Conference Center in Ada.

Three distinguished graduates will be honored: Frank W. Davis, Jim Spencer and the late Tim Green.

Davis, a 1958 graduate of ECU, was postmaster in Ada and a county attorney in Guthrie. Davis is in private practice in Guthrie. He served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives for 26 years.

Spencer, a native of Lindsay and a 1985 ECU graduate, is chief meteorologist and weathercaster at KXAN in Austin, Texas, and has been forecasting the weather in central Texas for more than 25 years. His broadcasting career began the same month he started college at East Central University in 1981.

Scales, a 1966 graduate, served as a teacher, coach and principal at Millwood High School in Oklahoma City and McLain High School in Tulsa before becoming superintendent of the College Station, Texas, Independent School District. …
