OKLAHOMA CITY - Work has started on a $1.5 million renovation of the Remington Park Casino in Oklahoma City.

The project began in late April and is expected to be complete before the start of Remington Park's 2016 thoroughbred season, which opens Aug. 12.

The casino will remain open during the project, which will involve updates to the carpet, lighting, ceiling, paint, decorative fixtures and signage.

Several new electronic games will be installed, creating a new area to be known as the WinZone. The casino's layout, including the bar area, is also set to be reconfigured.

"These upgrades will continue to provide our guests the first- rate experience they have come to expect at Remington Park," said Scott Wells, the track's president and general manager. …
