COUN Dennett lives in Albion Towers, a housing association block in Pendleton, and became a tenants leader who lobbied the council for more transparency.

He joined the Labour Party in 2007 and became a councillor for the Langworthy ward four years ago.

He is now the pack leader of new breed of young Labour politicians at the council.

Does he back Jeremy Corbyn? His tone is sometimes 'old labour' despite his new-kid-onthe-block status.

"I am a supporter of Corbyn," he said. "I don't necessarily support all of his policies. I think he is electable as a prime minister. He stands for the working classes. He has been Salford and walked around my ward."

Coun Dennett is clear where he stands on the crime which has catapulted Salford on to the front pages for all the wrong reasons in recent months.
