Township Oks Municipal Building Renovation, Repaving Contract

Peters is moving forward with renovating its municipal building and a $1.33 million repaving plan.

Council last month approved a $274,400 bid from Freedom Enterprises and Associates of Cranberry to make improvements to the building. The township had budgeted $250,000 for the work.

"Key project components include making security improvements in the lobby and in council chambers and relocating offices to provide a better flow within the building," township manager Michael Silvestri said.

The bid includes two alternate bids, which were also approved - $10,800 for special door locks to comply with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and $15,600 to make council chambers ADA compliant.

Council also awarded a $1.33 million repaving contract to Morgan Excavating of Belle Vernon. …
