Fort Lee Traffic Stop Leads Cops to $667,000

A Bergenfield man has been charged with money laundering after police seized a total of $667,278 in cash from his car and home following a traffic stop on Route 4 in Fort Lee, authorities said in a news release.

Pedro M. Vicioso-Lima, 46, was arrested Tuesday night and faces a first-degree charge of possession of property from criminal activity -- what police referred to as money laundering -- after a Fort Lee detective initiated a traffic stop for an unspecified reason. A K-9 unit investigation indicated "the presence of narcotics in the vehicle" and police found more than $6,000 in a secret compartment behind a television speaker unit in the ceiling of his van, authorities said.

Police said that the detective who initiated the stop, T.J. Cullen, became suspicious at some point of Vicioso-Lima's "travels to the Jerome Avenue area of the Bronx. …
