Chiefs Trade First-Round Pick to 49ers, Acquire Additional Picks

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Chiefs moved out of the first round Thursday night by trading the 28th overall pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for the 49ers' second- (37th overall), fourth- (105th overall) and sixth-round pick (178th overall).

With the trade, the Chiefs now have two second-round picks, two fourth-round picks, two fifth-round picks and two sixth-round picks, giving the team a total of nine selections in the draft.

The trade gives the Chiefs two picks within the top 60 players of the draft class, but the Chiefs still don't have a third-round pick, which was forfeited after the NFL ruled the Chiefs violated the anti- tampering policy.

The 49ers used the 28th pick acquired from the Chiefs on offensive guard Joshua Garnett out of Stanford. …
