* The Bergen County tournament will be seeded tonight.

* The Passaic County tournament will continue today with a 4 p.m. quarterfinal between 10th-seeded West Milford and second-seeded Eastside at Larry Doby Field in Paterson. The three remaining quarterfinals are scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday. Those games are No. 9 Clifton at No. 1 Wayne Hills, No. 6 Passaic at No. 3 Passaic Tech and No. 12 DePaul at No. 4 Hawthorne. The semifinals are 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday at Passaic Tech. The final is 5 p.m. May 17 at 5 p.m. at Passaic Tech.

* Bergenfield continues to get outstanding production from Chris Liriano. The junior SS is hitting .421 and has 27 hits, including six doubles and a home run, to go with 15 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

* Senior 3B Andrew Kauf continues to produce for DePaul. Kauf has a .500 batting average, including six doubles, two triples and two homers, has knocked in 13 runs, and has struck out just four times in 55 at-bats.

* Dumont has won seven straight and clinched its third consecutive Big North American Division title along the way. The Huskies' bats have been booming, especially those of senior C Eric Breun (.412, 23 RBI), senior 3B Justin Torres (.492, 18 RBI) and senior SS KJ Matoral (.517, 30 hits, 22 runs).

* Eastside junior lefty Wilfredo Valenzuela takes a 4-2 record and a 1.55 ERA into his start against West Milford today in the Passaic County quarterfinals. Junior 1B Harold Calero (.419) and sophomore C Edwin Mendez (.395) have been consistent hitters for the Ghosts.

* Keep an eye on Hasbrouck Heights senior Ryan Kaverick, who has pitched much better than his 3-3 record indicates. He has allowed only six earned runs in 45 innings (0.93 ERA) and has 79 strikeouts.

* Park Ridge has won six straight and outscored its opposition, 72-16, during that streak. The Owls' offense has been led by senior OF Nick DiMeo (.500, 25 hits, three homers, 23 RBI), sophomore OF Gabe Robles (.390, 23 hits, 21 runs), senior SS Evan Matthews (16 RBI) and junior 1B Justin Kuron (16 hits, 15 RBI).

* Senior SS Yohanly Ortiz is having a strong season for Passaic Tech. He has a team-high .457 batting average, two homers and 15 RBI. …
