Pair to Stand Trial in Threats against Youth Football Officials

Two people will stand trial on charges they threatened youth football league officials, forcing the cancellation of the league's season last fall.

Joseph Vincent Loughner, 51, of Greensburg, and Kimberly Dawn Ross, 34, of Connellsville, waived their right to a preliminary hearing Monday.

State police charged them in March with making terroristic threats, conspiracy to make terroristic threats and harassment in connection with threats made against Mount Pleasant Area Junior Football League president Rick Albright and secretary Ed Farzati.

The threats, which escalated over about a month, caused the popular youth football league to cancel its 50th anniversary season in October.

Ms. Ross told police Mr. Loughner made her write threatening letters to the men because he was unhappy with changes to league rules regarding the weight limit of players. …
