That's the message from Juan Mata after the Reds hit top spot in the Premier League with a win over Sunderland.

It was a special moment for the midfielder, who sealed the 3-0 victory in injury time in what was another encouraging performance from Louis Van Gaal's men.

"From the first day I was hoping to see the team in this place the club has occupied for so many times in the past," said Mata.

"Our current position is a consequence of the good work.

"But right now, still in September, it doesn't mean anything if we don't keep working, and we do know that.

"We have ambition, but we are aware that the way ahead is very long and tough."

United have two games this week - against Wolfsburg in the Champions League tomorrow night and Arsenal in the Premier League - and victories in both will help the Reds keep their momentum before the international break. …
