NEIL Young is seeing "massive strides" from a Stockport County side which holds the best away record in the National League North.

A 1-0 triumph at Gainsborough two weeks ago means that fourth- placed County have already equalled last year's effort of four wins on the road, less than a quarter into the 2015/16 campaign.

But boss Young says he "hasn't changed much at all" in terms of the playing style since last season's 11th-place finish under Alan Lord, despite the huge upturn in away form.

"The club's finished 13th and 11th in the past two seasons - I'm not Harry Potter, I can't come in and turn that around in five minutes with a magic wand," Young said.

"But it's pleasing that even without a full squad to choose from, we're still getting at teams away from home."

The County boss explains that the contrast between the home and away form is easily attributable to home sides "having a go" at the Hatters. …
