Askey Still Has Sights Set on Trip to Wembley

MACCLESFIELD TOWN boss John Askey has called on his side to regain the consistency that has them challenging on two fronts this season.

The Silkmen have been on the cusp of the Vanarama National League play-off places for most of the campaign and have reached the last 16 of the FA Trophy.

After their thirdround tie away to league rivals Torquay United was postponed on Saturday, it has been rearranged for tomorrow night when Macc aim to bounce back after Forest Green's late fightback last week.

That made it three straight league defeats for the Silkmen, which has seen them slip to 11th in the table, but Askey (pictured) believes they can get back to their best.

"We've had one or two injuries, but we need to get back to playing the kind of football we were playing and working a little bit harder," he said. …
