ARAGING warehouse fire led to road closures and warnings for residents to keep doors and windows shut.

Firefighters spent more than eight hours yesterday tackling fierce flames tearing through an industrial unit in Radcliffe, near Bury.

Dramatic images taken from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service's aerial drone captured the extent of the emergency.

The incredible shots from the sky show flames pouring out of the building's roof on Holland Street, off Cross Lane.

Huge plumes of smoke billowing into the sky could be seen for miles around - and fire service bosses warned residents living nearby to keep all their doors and windows closed as a precaution.

Surrounding streets were sealed off and police advised the public to stay away from the area. Fire crews were called to reports of a building fire at 7.35am.

The building, which is more than 150ft long, was used as a clothing recycling depot, said a spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

It was virtually destroyed in the fire. …
