West Virginia added the third piece to its 2017 football recruiting class Thursday night, with Delray Beach (Florida) American Heritage running back Alec Sinkfield committing to the Mountaineers. Sinkfield, who chose West Virginia over offers from Kentucky, North Carolina and Syracuse, among others, had long been a WVU lean. Much like his new classmate, Tevin Bush, the staff just needed to see him in person.

That happened Thursday, with ace recruiter and running backs coach JaJuan Seider stopping by the school to watch him practice. What he saw left little doubt that Sinkfield could not only play, but also excel in the Big 12. A short time later, Sinkfield called and confirmed his status.
