Ex-Student Gets $35,000 in Science Teacher Sex Suit

LITTLE FALLS -- A former student at Passaic Valley High School has settled a lawsuit against the Board of Education for $35,000 in a case of sexual misconduct by a former science teacher, according to court documents.

The settlement was revealed Thursday in a public-records request by John Paff, an open-government advocate.

The student, who is now 23, alleged in her lawsuit that during the 2007-08 school year, Demetrick Williams "began a course of inappropriate affection, touching and physical battery, assault and sexual molestation ... which included forcing [her] to take sexually explicit photographs of herself," according to the complaint.

Williams was charged in February 2008 with endangering the welfare of a child. He pleaded guilty to the charge in September of that year and in 2009 was sentenced to two years' probation. …
