OUIS van Gaal walked out of his press conference Lyesterday as speculation mounts about his position at United.

But not before the Dutchman claimed he has the full backing of the club, including executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Van Gaal spoke for just five minutes at his press briefing to preview the Boxing Day game at Stoke before marching out of the room.

The 64-year-old blamed the media for the stream of speculation linking ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho with his job following the three defeats in a row that have seen United crash out of the Champions League and slip to fifth in the Premier League table.

He accepted his team are in a 'bad moment' after six games without a win.

But he claimed he had received support from Woodward, former manager Sir Alex Ferguson and former chief executive David Gill in the wake of Saturday's damaging 2-1 defeat to Norwich at Old Trafford. …
