Florida saw a significant drop-off in the creation of private- sector jobs in April, according to a national human resources and payroll processing firm.

The Sunshine State gained 9,500 new private-sector jobs. Florida had added 18,600 private-sector jobs in March.

Service-producing companies created 10,100 positions, but goods- producing business saw a net decline of 600 positions, ADP and economists at Moody's Analytics Inc. reported on Wednesday.

In April 2015, the state had created 31 percent more positions, at 13,800, according to ADP's data.

Private-sector jobs additions last month were led by trade, transportation and utilities, at 2,100, while professional and business services added 1,400 jobs and the state's construction industry added only 300 jobs. …
