PAUL Scholes, Anthony Crolla and a host of other sports personalities took to the field to raise cash for an injured young footballer.

Promising junior player Ellis Robinson, 17, suffered a serious injuries during a five-a-side game in February. He faces a long journey to recover the use of his legs after severe spinal damage. But 1,500 fans packed into Boundary Park for a charity match between the Premier All Stars and Latics Legends to help the brave youngster travel to America for specialist treatment. Boxing champion Crolla was one of the sport stars taking part, following on from the defence of his world lightweight title at the Manchester Arena. He joined the Class of '92 star Scholes, as well as former United stars Ray Wilkins and David May, former City striker Paul Dickov and ex- Premier League footballers James Beattie and Frank Sinclair. …
