WHAT are the benefits of moving in with your lover? Sex on tap, shared bills, and someone else to put the bins out? Initially, yes. But fast forward a few months and there's another, less welcome, product of cosy domesticity - weight gain.

If your other half is ordering in pizza and pouring more wine, it takes a will of iron to say 'not for me, thanks'. Indeed, 60% of couples in comfortable relationships pile on the pounds.

The people we meet in this new four-part series - fronted by TV psychologist Tanya Byron - are extreme examples of this.

The show is based on the idea that if you separate obese couples, for enough time to instill healthier habits individually, you'll break the cycle of one overweight partner enabling and encouraging the other.
