A TERRIFIC performance ensured it is advantage City in the Women's Super League.

Chelsea have not lost in the WSL since the Blues defeated them last July, and beat Nick Cushing's side in an FA Cup semi-final last month.

But City roared back in style to put them six points ahead of the defending champions at the top of the league.

It was a vibrant performance from the off at Staines, with the front three of Jane Ross, Nikita Parris and Toni Duggan all causing problems early on.

That positivity was rewarded just before the break when Demi Stokes drove the ball home past the helpless Chelsea keeper, and the visitors started the second half as well as they finished the first. Jen Beattie rose highest from a corner and a deflection helped it into the net.

While Chelsea pushed hard for a way back into the game, Ji So- Yun's effort that came off the crossbar was the closest they came as Karen Bardsley and the Blues defence held on for another clean sheet - they are yet to concede a league goal this season. …
