Blues Are Keen for Kidd to Stay at the Etihad

BRIAN Kidd will not be leaving City this summer, if the Blues get their way.

United reportedly want him to rejoin them and play a significant role in Jose Mourinho's team when the Portuguese is named new Old Trafford boss.

But it's understood the 66-year-old has been told he is part of City's plans and he is happy to remain at the Etihad and work under new manager Pep Guardiola.

He joined City in 2009 as part of Roberto Mancini's coaching team and was the only survivor from the Italian's backroom staff when Manuel Pellegrini took over in 2013.

The club see Kidd as a valuable link to the past whose close relationship with the players can help smooth the transition between managers.

Kidd spent three years as a player at City in the 70s having started his career at United, where he made over 200 league appearances. …
