TWO men have been arrested after a spate of legal high health scares in Rochdale - as a new ban on the substances kicks in.

A total of nine people have been taken ill across the town after consuming the pills - with a 24-year-old man currently fighting for his life in hospital.

GMP have revealed that two men have been arrested on suspicion of supplying legal highs.

The arrests come as new laws that come in force today which prohibit the production, supply and importation synthetic substances that have the same or similar effects to some class A drugs. Police in Rochdale say there have been nine incidents since Friday night in which people aged between 17 and 46 have taken ill.

The highs they are said to have consumed include: substances known as Annihilation, Cherry Bomb, Clockwork Orange, Pandora's Box and Kronic Black Label. …
