Police Use Stun Gun to Subdue Man

FAIRVIEW -- A police officer used a stun gun to subdue a naked man who charged him early Wednesday, authorities said.

Two borough police officers were called to Anderson Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. when someone reported an emotionally disturbed person in the area, Capt. Vincent Bellucci of the borough police said.

The man charged the officers, who were standing together, and one officer used a Taser to stop him, Bellucci said.

The man was not injured, but he was taken to an area hospital for observation as an emotionally disturbed person, the captain said.

Bellucci did not provide further details about the man or identify the officers involved.

The incident marked the second time a borough police officer used a Taser to subdue a suspect, Bellucci said. …
