Former Reds Coach Hoek's Regret in Wake of Departure

FORMER United goalkeeping coach Frans Hoek has echoed Louis van Gaal by expressing his disappointment they could not complete their 'three-year plan' at the club.

Van Gaal and his United Dutch coaching staff have all departed following their failure to qualify for the Champions League next season, despite the weekend's FA Cup success.

Hoek changed his bio on Twitter shortly after the Monday evening announcement confirming Van Gaal's sacking and the former Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Netherlands coach has reflected on his time at Old Trafford.

Hoek said in a statement: "I am disappointed to be unable to complete our intended threeyear plan.

"But it has been an honour and privilege to coach at such a magnificent club as Manchester United FC.

"At first I thank the players. It was a great pleasure to work with them. …
