To make the Memorial Day weekend memorable, Uncle Bo's has booked one of its favorite acts and biggest draws, the Cate Brothers from Fayetteville, Ark. They will perform at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the blues nightspot on the lower level of the Ramada Hotel and Convention Center, 420 S.E. 6th. Tickets are $15 nightly to hear twins Earl and Ernie Cate, an act one critic described as Arkansas' answer to "the Righteous Brothers, Neville Brothers and the Everly Brothers." Doors open at 6:30.

Another Memorial Day tradition in Topeka is the Evans United Shows Carnival, which has set up its rides of various degrees of thrills on the south side of the Kansas Expocentre. That is where they will operate through May 29. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. weekdays and 1 to 11 p. …
