WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE would surely be doing a little tap dance in his grave if he could see this spellbinding reimagining of one of his best-loved plays.

With a starry cast, epic battles, lesbian kisses and everyone using an iPad, it's no stuffy, dated production, but rather one for the modern day.

And it will come as no surprise that this has all come from ex- Doctor Who writer and producer Russell T Davies, who apparently has loved Midsummer since he played Bottom in a school production.

Aside from a great cast, the 90 mesmerising minutes also include amazing CGI effects and a soaring music score.

And although the actors still doth speak in Shakespearean language (the original text is unchanged), hark at this - with Russell's modern stamp,suddenly it all becomes clear.

So if you're worried you won't get it because Shakespeare baffled you at school, well, don't. …
