PROTECTING STUDENTS

Henry J. Gerling, the superintendent of instruction for St. Louis Public Schools, announces plans to use his own money to secure deposits of up to $25,000 made by area schoolchildren to local banks. The banks had closed because of the Great Depression.

ROUTE 66 FESTIVAL

The Edwardsville Route 66 Festival is June 10-11 at Edwardsville City Park.
