BASED on population, Greater Manchester's share of the current annual NHS deficit is more than Pounds 100million (Pounds 101,867,089 to be precise).

Based on population, Greater Manchester's share of the current annual cost of useless and immoral nuclear weapons of mass destruction is also more than Pounds 100million (Pounds 101,867,089 to be more precise).

This does, of course, offer the government a somewhat obvious and immediate solution to the problem of the NHS deficit. But, if we really want to find a way to properly fund our essential health and social services for the decades to come, it is cancellation of plans for so-called 'Trident renewal' that would both provide ample resources and end the need for seemingly endless yearon-year cuts to councils' budgets.

The total cost of 'Trident renewal' is now estimated at Pounds 205billion, making Greater Manchester's share of the money to be squandered on nuclear weapons of mass destruction a staggering Pounds 8,701,147,152! …
