LAWTON - The Southwest Oklahoma Impact Coalition will offer Lawton Fort Sill's Career Pathways Initiative with "Thriving in Challenging Times: Connecting Education to Economic Development" on June 10.

The event will feature two tracks, one for education professionals and one for the general public, and will be in the McMahon Centennial Complex on the Cameron University campus. There is no charge to attend, although advance registration is requested by calling (405) 274-9135 or emailing mfeaver@soiconline.org.

Lawton Public Schools, the Lawton Fort Sill Economic Development Corp., the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Southwest Oklahoma are partners in the initiative.

"A 'career pathway' is a culture shift that provides students a chance to obtain the education and credentials they need to be career-ready and successful in jobs that support local workforce needs in both business and industry," said Marilyn Feaver, executive director of SOIC. …
