Webster Groves Woman Charged in Crash That Injured a Police Officer and Second Man

WEBSTER GROVES * A woman from Webster Groves faces felony charges after police say she crashed into the back of a parked police SUV, injuring a police officer and another man, while driving drunk.

Lori L. Callander, 43, of the first block of Claiborne Place, was charged May 20 with two counts of second-degree assault in connection with a crash on Nov. 24 near Elm and Lockwood avenues. Her bail was set at $50,000.

Police say Callander was driving a vehicle that struck a parked police SUV.

The officer, Andrew White, had been gathering information from a previous accident and was walking back toward his patrol SUV to call in the information, police say.

That's when the car driven by Callander struck the officer's SUV from behind, and the SUV rammed the officer's legs, according to court papers. …
