Two Men Charged in Fake Stanley Cup Ticket Scheme

Pittsburgh police have arrested two Massachusetts men on charges of selling counterfeit tickets for the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final.

Ronald Seeley, 45, of Wareham, and John Green, 46, of Quincy, were charged Wednesday with forgery, tampering with evidence and conspiracy after police said the men were found with $1,384 in cash and 18 fake tickets to the games.

After receiving a tip Wednesday morning from ticket vendors at Consol Energy Center that two men were selling bogus tickets, police officers went to the corner of Sixth and Centre avenues that afternoon and found the suspects leaving in a car. Police pulled the car over and found that Mr. Seeley had ripped up eight of the tickets, which they recovered along with the sum of cash, officers said in a criminal complaint. …
