Regarding the article about state Department of Environmental Protection Secretary John Quigley's email to environmentalists ("Details Emerge About Email That Led to DEP Chief's Departure," May 24): Concern about Mr. Quigley's salty email and his objectivity were likely excuses to rout out Mr. Quigley, who advocated for regulations to protect the health of people and ecosystems that sustain life.

Gov. Tom Wolf and other politicians from both parties, who do what drillers command (as well as take their campaign donations), don't want any regulations, even though the industry eventually has them weakened and/or ignores them.
