2 Traffic Stops in Wayne Lead to 4 Drug Arrests

WAYNE -- Township police arrested four people for possession of heroin in two separate traffic stops late last week, police said Monday.

Last Wednesday police stopped a black BMW near the interchange of Routes 23, 46 and 80 for not having a front license plate, Capt. Laurence W. Martin said in a news release. When they saw the driver and passengers, they noticed "fresh needle marks" in the arms of a passenger and an uncapped hypodermic needle, police said.

During a search of the vehicle, police said, they discovered 103 glassine bags of heroin stamped "Star Power" and several hypodermic needles.

Katelyn N. Morgan, 22, of Oak Ridge, Kevin Beyel, 27, of Wharton and Shawn Torday-reo, 27, of Oak Ridge were charged with possession of heroin and hypodermic needles. Torday-reo was also wanted in Lake Hopatcong, Kinnelon, Totowa and Boonton, police said. …
