The June 3 article detailing inaccuracies and embellishment on behalf of the Pittsburgh Public Schools' new superintendent Anthony Hamlet is emblematic of what will continue to hold back Pittsburgh as it seeks to grow and evolve ("New Resume Questions Raised About Incoming Pittsburgh Schools Superintendent").

As a 26-year-old professional, I love living in the city. As a future parent, why would I want to raise a child in it?

Hiring a search firm that had no prior experience in hiring a superintendent, without a proper RFP (requests for proposals) process? Hiring someone with no prior experience as a superintendent? Shrugging off outright misinformation on his resume, when the aforementioned search firm didn't actually vet it?

Why would I, or any other young adult, see what the Pittsburgh Board of Education has done and determine that it is competent enough to oversee the education of my future children? …
