St. Albans High School to Induct New Members into Hall of Fame

A new class will be inducted into the St. Albans High School Sports and Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame on Saturday, July 23. The dinner and ensuing ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at the high school. The keynote speaker and a distinguished alumnus will be Larry Ellis, Class of 1970. Ellis is a successful federal prosecutor and a published author.
Nine former athletic individuals and two more distinguished alumni will be inducted, following the dinner. The distinguished alumni are:
" Dr Rebecca Goodwin (1958), a longtime educator and administrator in St. Albans and Kanawha County.
" Bill Currey (1962), a successful businessman known for his outstanding work with the Coal River Group.
The athletes to be inducted are:
" George Gleason (1954, basketball)
" Johnny Mann (1963, football, basketball, baseball)
" Mike Dodrill (1969, football, basketball)
" Billy Eades (1969, trainer)
" Steve Kerns (1970, cross country and track)
" John Frazier (1977, cross country and track)
" Scott Tweedy (1989, basketball, baseball)
" Greg Garber (1982, girls softball coach)
" Danny Chambers (1971, baseball) will be inducted posthumously. …
