STREETCAR STRIKE

Employees of St. Louis Transit Co. vote to strike after streetcar line owners threatened wage cuts. The strike lasts until September; violence during the strike leaves 14 people dead.

HEADS UP

The St. Louis Artists' Guild is offering two summer camps. From June 20-24 is the Action Art Camp. Projects will be large and collaborative with a heavy focus on painting in fun and unique ways. From July 25-29 is the Words plus Text plus Numbers. Its focus will be on different types of printmaking.

The camps will be from 9 a.m. to noon for 6- to 8-year olds and 1- 4 p.m. for 9- to-11-year-olds. They will be at the guild, 12 N. Jackson Avenue at Forsyth Boulevard in Clayton.
