It is shocking that after the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education was informed of the various ways in which Anthony Hamlet adjusted the statistics on his resume to make his performance as an administrator of public schools in Florida look way better than it is - and had to plagiarize part of his own statements of education goals and beliefs - the board still intends to hire this deceitful candidate ("Hamlet Defends Accomplishments at Florida Schools," June 8).

He is now damaged goods and can only be an appalling role model for our students. The board should withdraw their offer immediately, whatever it costs, beg Linda Lane to hang in there for another year, and renew the search.

This time, the resumes need to be examined properly. Pittsburgh should look for candidates who trained at the best schools of education in the country - and who have serious and original thoughts about how to achieve these desired goals and can express them in their own words. …
